- Liverpool’s coach, Jürgen Klopp (56 years old), and one of his star players, Mohamed Salah (31 years old), got into an ugly quarrel during their match against West Ham.
- This exchange happened right after West Ham’s equalizer, which led the match to end in a draw and caused Liverpool to lose more points.
During matchday 35 of the Premier League season, Liverpool faced West Ham away from home. It was a pretty even contest, with both sides scoring twice. Around the 79th minute, Klopp asked for Salah to replace Luis Diaz (27 years old), when all of a sudden, a heated exchange started between the two.
Fans can only speculate the reason behind the fight, with most opinions suggesting it was caused by Salah’s frustration with being left on the bench for almost the entire game.
Before the situation got even worse, Darwin Núñez (24 years old) and Joe Gomez (26 years old) both intervened, trying to calm down the Egyptian player.
After the game, the story got split into two sides. The German coach insisted that the matters had already been resolved, away from the public’s eyes. On the other hand, Salah declared that it is better that he doesn’t speak about this incident, otherwise “there will be fire”.
Are Liverpool out of the title race?
The draw with West Ham made many people wonder whether Liverpool is still in the race for the Premier League trophy. If their rivals, Manchester City and Arsenal, win their matches, the Reds will fall 5 points behind the desired first place, with only 3 matches left of the current season. Liverpool faces Tottenham, Aston Villa and Wolves in the upcoming weeks.
Only this month, Liverpool managed to drop points by drawing Manchester United in an impressive derby, but also by losing to teams like Everton and Crystal Palace.
In addition, the fans are starting to lose hope after a surprising Europa League exit against Atalanta and another negative result against the Red Devils in the FA Cup. This means that Liverpool could end up with only one trophy won this season, the Carabao Cup, which they won in extra time against Chelsea.

Is this how Klopp’s dynasty ends?
Jürgen Klopp has already announced that he will not continue coaching Liverpool starting from next season. During the official interview, he claimed the reason behind his decision is not connected to another team, but rather to a mental burnout that he needs to get rid of during a break of a minimum of one year.
Moreover, he promised the Liverpool fans that this would be the only English team that he would ever coach, as his respect and love for the club are beyond anything he imagined in the beginning. However, if fights like this continue, it could ruin the last beautiful moments he still has with the players and the fans.
Klopp is arguably one of the most successful and loved managers in the whole history of the Reds, as he helped rebuild the team starting from October 2015. In the 8 and a half years, he won everything with Liverpool: 1 Premier League, 1 Champions League, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 FA Cup and 2 Carabao Cups.

According to BBC, the Liverpool board already reached an agreement with the one that will take the German’s place starting from next season, Arne Slot (45 years old). The current Feyenoord manager has won the Eredivisie trophy last season and the KNVB Cup a week ago. He also managed to lead the Dutch side to a Conference League final back in 2022, but they lost to Mourinho’s AS Roma.
